Hi all I have surgery 3/30/10. Can you please give me some ideas of what to take and what not to take to hospital. Anything you needed, wanted, couldn''t live without.

I am feeling the same things you are, I have also been assured that this is completely normal.
My mantra is relax, relax, relax.  The decision I have made has not been done lightly, or am I uninformed about the "post surgery" lifestyle.

One thing I have found that helps me a lot is making a list of all the "What I hate about being Fat" items that I live with everyday, or "embarassing moments caused by my weight".

For instance, I went for a ride in a friends jeep with some other friends, and sat in the back.
HUGE mistake for a fat chick.  I got in ok, but getting out a real problem.. got stuck getting out of the door while my friends had to watch me struggle to get out.  (OUCH!)

I did my usual laugh it off that I normally do, but then it hit me... That would be the last time something like that is going to happen to me.  Why? WLS.. Finally a tool that will work with my body instead of fighting my body.

Well... Good luck with your surgery, and honestly, the liquid diet has not been that bad. I have one week out of two down and am living on sf pudding, protein drinks and sf popsicles. It's all about keeping your eyes on the goal.
