5:30 is probably safer.  See you then!

Oh, and there will be a "what did Lora just have done?" quiz.... so you've been warned!  (You know how women get when no one notices things!)

Topic: June 12 NE Ohio Bariatric Bicycle Club Poker Run and Picnic
Hi Folks,

I just wanted to give a final plug for a fun event being held this Saturday, June 12, at St. Helena Heritage Park in Canal Fulton. The Akron Canton Spin-offs weight loss support bicycle club is holding a poker run in the morning for people of all abilities. Your can cycle, walk, run or jog a short or long course.

Immediately following the poker run will be a cycling fair where you can learn about nutrition for a ride, how to change that flat tire, how to select the bike that’s right for you, and how to outfit yourself and your bike for a ride.

In the afternoon, the Summa LIFE Bariatric Support Group is having their annual picnic. Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to be a Summa patient. If you plan to stay for the picnic, bring a bariatric friendly picnic dish to share.

This is wonderful opportunity to explore Ohio’s canal history. Our picnic shelter is right off of the Towpath near downtown Canal Fulton. You can take a canal boat ride, walk the Towpath, explore quaint shops or just spend the day resting and socializing. The web page link below takes you to the event home page. A short summary of the day follows for your reference.

Hope to see you this Saturday in Canal Fulton!

It’s in the cards!
9:00 a.m. -- Poker Run Registration and Healthy Trail Snacks Start the day off by meeting fellow Spin Off members. There will be water and healthy trail snacks for you to take on the Poker Run. You need to check in at the picnic shelter in St. Helena Heritage Park to participate.

10:00 a.m. -- Poker Run (bike, walk, jog) We’ve taken the idea of a motorcycle poker run and changed it to be doable for all of our members regardless of their physical abilities. You make a round trip on the Towpath collecting playing cards from different stops along the trail. The player with the best poker hand at the finish wins. This is not a race. You must complete the Poker Run by Noon. You bike, walk or jog on either of the two options for the Poker Run. There will be a winner from each option. Registration is free. $5 donation requested to defray Poker Run expenses.

Short Poker Run (1.7 Miles) After getting your 1st card at registration, you travel north to the Lake Lucerne Trailhead parking lot. One of our members greets you and gives you 3 cards. Return to St. Helena Heritage Park where you will get your final card of your poker hand.

Long Poker Run (8 Miles) After getting your 1st card at registration, you travel north to the Lake Lucerne Trailhead parking lot. One of our members greets you and gives you your 2nd card. Continue north to the Clinton Trailhead parking lot where you get your 3rd card. Turn south and cycle back to the Lake Lucerne parking lot where you pickup your 4th card. Return to St. Helena Heritage Park where you get your final card of your poker hand.

Noon -- Cycling Fair Winners are announced. You can visit our cycling fair in the park. There will be stations setup around the picnic shelter where 15 minute fun, casual workshops will be held. These workshops help you learn more about cycling, the equipment you need, how to keep yourself and your bike in good working order on a ride, and more about local bicycle trails.

START OVER!
If you've started out in pursuit of your goal
And you've really tried with your heart and your soul,
but somehow things got out of control ---
START OVER.
When you've tried your best to do what you should
And you thought this time that you surely would,
But once again, you didn't do good ---
START OVER.
When you've worked so hard to follow a dieter's way
And you fought to win a victory each day
But one more time you went astray ---
START OVER.
When you've tried so hard to yourself to be true
And do the things that you know you should do
But once again you failed to come through ---
START OVER.
When the road to success seemed much too long
And each temptation was oh so strong
And once again you gave in to wrong ---
START OVER.
When you've told your friends what you planned to do
And trusted them to help you through
But soon discovered it's up to you ---
START OVER.
When you know you must be physically fit,
But your hope seems gone and you're stuck in a pit
That's not the time for you to quit ---
START OVER.
When the week seems long and successes few
And at weigh-in time you're feeling blue
Remember tomorrow is just for you ---
START OVER.
To start again means a victory's been won
And starting over again means a race well run
And starting over again proves it can be done
So don't just sit there ---
START OVER.
