Topic: Our cycling club made the newspaper
Kind of nice seeing our bicycle club for bariatric patients making the news! Our club was the lead story in the local newspaper (Akron beacon Journal) health section. Check it out here.
Why not join us for a ride? You can check out the club at www.spinoffcyclists.com.

Topic: RE: Support Groups in Adams/Brown County?
Dr. Curry's office has support group meetings at the journey lite center twice a month. I'm not sure how long the drive would be for you, though. I live in Highland Co so it's a haul for me, too...
Topic: Anyone from Lake County/Northeast Ohio?
Hello! Looking to make friends with local people to attend meetings and exercise with. Just scheduled my surgery today for October 14th and would like to have a positive support system with people who truly understand the feelings, pain, changes, etc. Not only have positive supportive friends but friends who can push me (aka kick my butt) when the time calls for it!
Topic: King's Island the Sunday after the Cincy OH conference
For anyone who is interested (whether you are going to the OH conference on the 20th and 21st or not) a group of us are planning to go to King's Island on Sunday the 22nd.
If you are interested, please let me know so we can communicate instructions for meeting up.

Topic: RE: Not scheduled (YET)
I just had my nutrition meeting. Whew! 6 hours of information in 3 hours! A lot of stuff to take in! I got my two week liver reducing diet and will start that on Monday. I am still so ready to get going! Forward ho
Topic: RE: NEED HELP - 2 months after surgery!
Another pre-op opinion here... get on the phone ASAP and see what your dr's office has to say. Some people get help with sleep aides so sleep pattern changes sound fairly normal to me.
Also - - did you try the Gas - X strips? Recommendations for those are popular around here, too. Walk walk walk... sip sip sip.
Good luck!!!
Topic: RE: x-post from main brd not new just been away a long time
I would get on the phone with the office and see if they can help! I have not had a lot of luck with my surgeon's office via email. They seem to be too busy to handle the online world as well as the real world! (I'm pre-op so I'm not full of too much info for you!)
Good idea to pull out your materials and start over again!
Continue to post here and ask if anyone has recommendations for monthly meetings -- I know if you are near Columbus you can join in at the Fresh Start / Riverside meetings even if you are NOT a patient.
Good luck to you!

You already have good advice about eating/food problems.
As for exercise I've been going to the Y for a water aerobics class. I love it. I can jog, do 100 jumping jacks, & move in ways I never could on land. Plus I don't sweat!

(who can't believe she is saying this... but actually looks forward to exercising!!!)

I am pre-WLS, and am consulting with the same office as you. I've found the staff the be very accessible; you should try to call Laura the NUT. They are there to be supportive. Don't hold back.

I don't know much about the sleeve.
My advice is to talk to your surgeon ASAP. He is the one how knows what is going on.
