I have the same insurance Rachel. I was just wondering what the requirements were that you had to do before approval?
I have an insurance question. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2009. My daughter signed up through the exchange and was told when signing up in March bariatric surgery was covered, only to find out that in June it isn't. I have tried to appeal with not a good outcome. My questions are- What insurance company in Ohio covers bariatric surgery-self pay and what other avenues can we take? I called the hospital but they told us in order to self pay, on the day of surgery we would have to pay 24,500. which is totally impossible.
Any help would be really appreciated

I know a plastic surgeon who is experienced in performing plastic surgery in Columbus, Ohio i.e Sullivan Centre. You can contact him for consultation. He is the best plastic surgeon in the area; I believe that your issue will surely get resolved after meeting the plastic surgeon of this infirmary.
Zangmeister Deter. They are the best. I see Dr. Jeffrey Zangmeister. He has a very clear understanding of the gastric bypass side affects.

I am not sure if they have a history of taking care of Gastric bypass patients but Hemotology Oncology Consultants are in and around the Columbus area. You could always call them and ask.

Does anyone have a hematologist that they go to in Columbus who has a history with Gastric bypass patients? I am severely anemic and have low vit d. PCP has me taking iron but makes me sick... I have Anthem insurance.
