Do any one know of a good surgeon for African American in Ohio?....

I'm looking to a surgeon that had perform on African American. Do to the fact that we scare real bad. I've seen some people pictures and it look like the doctor just took advantage of some people and cut them with a jig saw. I don't want that to happen to me.

Charmaine My surgeon was Dr. Mikami of OSU, he is kind and gentle and understands the needs of everyone. My surgery was laproscopic so I only have a few small incisions, about 1/4 to 1 inch long. Good luck Josie

Dr Curry.........I have never seen another doctor (any type of doctor) so caring and involved. If I were closer I would be his patient...Just ask about him to anyone on here, he takes the time to answer people's questions, even people that aren't his patients. Talk to him...

Charmaine, call Dr. Curry's office he has a lot of patients of color and I havent heard anyone have problems. Of course with any surgery there is some scaring but I think its all how you take care of your skin after. His staff is wonderful and he is the best. Pam..

I went to Kira Schofield at the WISH Center in Springboro, OH. They have kind of a one-stop shop -- you meet with an exercise person, a nutritionist, the surgeon, the psychologist and the financial person on the same day. If you're a high risk patient, they fly Dr. Rosen in from Chicago so you have two surgeons for the operation (I had two surgeons). Also, they do all your insurance stuff, so you don't have to worry about it. The surgeon who heads the Medical University of Ohio program in Toledo is African American himself (I think). Good luck.

Barix Clinic in Groveport is very good and close to you. The reason for the scaring is because people of color normall get keloids(sp) it is not the drs are butchers.

Dr. Rita Anderson is the warmest, kindest doctor I've ever encountered. She's in Kettering, OH at the New Life Surgery Center.
