switching sides

The results of the tests on my esophagus are keepng me from getting banded. I have to switch to the Runy if I want anything done. I don't understand why it's ok and not the band but I guess it is. I have had to resubmit to the insurance since I was approved for a band. The insurance people for the Barix are not the best to keep on top of things. I have to keep calling to check on progress. My paperwork sat there 2 weeks with everything completed and they didn't turn it in to my insurance until I called and asked why they didn't have it yet... I hope this dosen't take forever again, once the insurance got it I was approved in 2 days. And I was told my surgeon was leaving and they have refered me to Dr Viglianco..... I wonder if it's a sign.....

Pam, I never had any trouble with Barix keeping on top of things other than them telling me after 3 months in I needed a psych eval and a doctor's supervised diet! I could of been ahead of the game if I had started right from the start! It of course took me awhile to find someone to do the psych eval then get an appt. set, plus call out of state doctor to send records after I sent them a release, etc, etc.... Other than that they really kept up on the insurance approval, would call me to advise me every step of the way. I think the gal's name was Rena. She was out of the main office in MI. But I wanted you to know that Dr. Vig is great! You will be very happy with him. He is a hugger. Treated me and my family with great respect. He is the surgeon that gets all the revisions or any difficult cases so you are getting the most experienced one there. He is honest and will answer all the tough questions. I am curious though, which doctor is leaving? Take care, Janet

Thanks for the info.....I had a Debbie at the ins office. She called me at first, but then stopped, I could never talk to her when I called, I always had to leave a voice mail and she would not call back. I had everything completed ... 2wks later when I checked whoever answered said "let me see what else you need" I told her there was nothing else.. why wasn't it submitted? It was later that afternoon..... Maybe I'll see if Rena is still there... I am caling in the morning. I had Dr Barbara first. I liked him but have only met him once... It's great to hear good things about Dr Viglianco. Makes me feel better. Hopefully I will get the surgery done mid March if timong goes like I think it will from the last time. Thanks for responding.
