For those of you who were able to get insurance coverage for your surgery, would you be willing to post where you work? I have a master's degree and would work any kind of job or change careers to get in with an organization that has a heart for the problems we have. I am shocked that it is so hard to find an insurance company that covers this! Thanks for sharing and everyone's help!

What insurance do you have. Do you have any problems like arthritis, high blood pressure, degenerative joint disease? All these things if documented help your case. Colette

Colette, I have GERD, sleep apnea, arthritis in my back and hip, knee and join pain, fatty liver, hiatal hernia, cancer survivor, and some other things that I probably forgot. I have UHC choice plus in Ohio and I have an iron-clad exclusion in my policy. I cant find an insurance company to switch to for my husband's company (who now has the UHC), so I thought I'd consider the possibility of getting a second job with a company that has insurance that covers it. Not like we couldnt use the extra money anyhow.

McDonalds covers it...I met a girl that works for them and they covered it all. Limited supposedly covers it, I know a girl that is 3 years post op that works for The Limited.

I work for Fifth Third Bank, and they *used* to cover it without a problem. Of course, now, it's only when "medically necessary," if that (keeping my fingers crossed). My sisters both had the surgery and so did their respective husbands. They worked for NuTone, but of course now they are laid off. I guess my point is you never can tell, but it wouldn't hurt to find out as much as you can! Good luck!! Angela

Hi, I've been looking desperately too and posting. So far, the responses I have received are: Cracker Barrel, Ryder Trucking, IBM, Home Depot, JC Penney (lady was from TX that responded to that one, Im not sure about OH) Hope this helps & if you find out any others, please let me know too. I feel like one of those people that always hold up cardboard signs near the malls, "WILL WORK FOR SURGERY!" Darlene

I know that CSC Consulting carries 2 insurance plans, Aetna HMO & PPO. The HMO covers 100% and PP0 50%, but you must get medical approval in both cases. But it wasn't that hard. Also I know Toyota North America cares Humana and they pay 100% and they are very easy to get approved! Hope that Helps!

Oh yeah, I've been told SBC (AT&T) too. Someone said Home Depot offers UHC ins after 90 days even for part-timers. I'm going to check into it. If it's true, I think we should all support them with our home improvement purchases.
