Arguments?

First of all,I haven't been reading post for awhile so I was amazed that this controversy is going on. I am very appreciative of Dr. Curry and the time he takes to help us all on this site. We should be very thankful that we have a physician who is willing to help us out on his own time. That said, there shouldn't be any argument over types of surgery. We are not made from one "mold" so what works for one doesn't fit all. Remember those dresses ONE SIZE FITS ALL--well it didn't work for me. The best course of action is to do your research and use the surgery that works for YOU. I am a Lapbander-why because my family didn't like the idea of the RNY (several are in the medical field and were seeing the problematic cases). Does this mean that RNY is bad--in no way-it just means that I chose not to upset my family with the CHANCE that something might go wrong. Didn't know about DS and still don't know alot about it. If it is the right choice for you--so be it. I am happy with my BAND and tho I know I have to keep working at it--it was the best choice for ME. It's time to move on and not critisize other's choices. We don't walk in their shoes nor know the individual situations. Let's just support each other no matter what the choice and keep supporting if there are problems. We are a support group ----I think---not trying to outdo each other. Sandy
