I am sure most of you will agree with me on this one: I think we should all be thankful Dr. Curry takes time from his very busy day (and I can attest to his business-I work for him!!!) and answers questions and does all he can to help everyone on this board. Everyone that is an active participant on this board certainly is walking around with the comfort of knowing that if they have a question of any type, at anytime, they can count on him to respond, even if he isn't their surgeon. And, unlike other surgeons, you won't receive a bill for the time he took to answer your question! He does it out of the goodness of his heart and the love of his profession. I have worked with Dr. Curry for over a year now. My opinion of him today is as high as it was when I first met him, if not higher. I referred my only sister to him for her surgical weight loss procedure and would do it again in a heartbeat-that alone, should speak volumes! Do I think Dr. Curry is arrogant? Heck no. He is confident and kind. So, Dr. Curry, I am honored to work for you. I am sorry that other people are not able to see the miracles you perform everyday, as I am,in a very un-arrogant mechanic like way!!! Hi Tracey I have to say that when I read all that crap about Dr. C I was very upset beyond belief. As the people can see when we post. I am a patient of Dr. Curry. When I attended his seminar I found him on first impression to be compassinant and serious about changing lives for the better. He appeared intelligent and well rounded in his field. I attended some other seminars in the Cincinnati area and did not feel confident about those surgeons at all. I am sending all my friends and family to this man. My surgery went so well because I listened to him and his staff and did everything they told me to do. I sometimes get a little slack on the board lol because Dr. C pops in and answers some of my post and it kind of makes some of the other poeple here jealous but he makes me feel special because he takes the time to not only answer my post but others of whom are not even his patients. Not every body has a surgeon they can PM anytime with the smallest of questions and get a prompt answer. I just hope the person responsible for all this knows that no deed goes unpaid and she will pay for what she has done. I will go to bat for Dr. C anytime because when he did my surgery he went to bat for me. Love Carla

I have been reading all of these arguments regarding Dr. C and I have to tell you that it sounds like a bunch of children fighting. How on earth can everyone who is putting Dr. down be so smart about WLS? If we all had the knowledge that Dr. C has we could be a surgeon ourselves. I cannot say how impressed I am that he even logs on to this board with all this nonsense! I'm sure he could find another way to utilize his time. As an employee in a medical device company, I have all of the information at my fingertips regarding WLS types and pros and cons etc. and Dr. C is one of the most highly regarded WL surgeons in our area. When we make the decision to have WLS or not, it is our decision. Which Dr. you choose is also your decision. So, the argument here is such a waste of energy. We have so many things to be thankful for especially at this holiday time. Being thankful is what we should be concentrating on. I am thankful for my family and my friends and my gifted surgeon, Dr. Curry and his staff. ~Nancy

Wow, you all took the words right out of my mouth. I too went to another doctor before finding Dr. Curry. When I went to his information seminar I knew he was the best choice and fought my insurance company until I received approval for my surgery... it took 2 years. I stuck with Dr. C and his crew because they are the best in Cincinnati. He is professional and personal all at the same time. My first couple weeks post-op I had a million questions that I sent to him and you know what... he answered every single private message I sent him. When I had pain he called me in a medication and he did not make me come in for an office visit so he could make some quick money off me. His office has been extremely compassionate and willing to help me in any way they could and for that I will always be grateful. I had my surgery on October 14th and every day I look in the mirror I see this new person coming out... someone I have never known and I become more excited about the journey I am on. Dr. Curry gave me the chance at a new life. How can you not have affection and gratefulness to a person like him? If it would not be too forward I would hug him because I can't thank him enough for the gift he has given me. I will be honest, I do not have any knowledge of DS, I did a great deal of research on RNY and LapBand and realized that LapBand was the best option for me. What I can tell you is, I trust Dr. Curry's opinion and if he would have directed me toward the RNY I would have followed his words without question. The man is a genius and anyone that thinks otherwise should take a step back and really analyze their thought process. I have never in my life known a doctor that is so willing to help others, to get on a message board and answer patients questions, to return phone calls promptly and to ease his patients worries with his knowledge and understanding. I would like to see the fighting stop. I stopped coming to this site before because people tend to fight too much. Last I looked, we were all part of the same journey... we all want drop pounds and we have each been given a tool or are looking into getting a tool that will help us through the journey. Dr. Curry, you rock and I love you man! I could not have asked or found a better surgeon. From the bottom of my heart, I truly thank you for everything you have done for me. Now... I am sure I have plenty more to say but I think that is enough at this time. Heather E. LapBand 10/14/05

Personally I don't give a flying *u*c* what anyone else thinks of Dr Curry, for I know that he saved my life. Its a shame that people have been bashing him for speaking his opinion. I don't see any other surgeon spending their free time answering questions and concerns on this board the way that he does. Its a wonder his wife doesn't hogtie him far away from that little laptop that he is so fond of carrying around! I too went to many seminars and met different surgeons before I chose Dr Curry. Some of those surgeons ought to just wear a tshirt with "just in it for the money!" on it. I have never called Dr Curry's office when I didn't get a response within minutes. When I had an unrelated problem with another surgery this summer and wound up in the ER, my sister called Dr Curry's office to let him know what was happening. Dr Curry was away at the time but Nancy the SuperNurse stayed on the phone with my sister for over 45 minutes to calm her down and to let her know that she would be in touch with Dr Curry ASAP. He is one of the finest surgeons that I have ever met and his concern is genuine and you can feel his compassion for you. So excuse my postal mouth, but others can call him whatever they want, but I call him a HERO!

I researched WLS for almost FIVE years before I decided on having an RNY **It was the RIGHT THING FOR ME** I researched many doctors... DR CURRY WAS THE RIGHT DOC FOR ME!!! His whole practice is incredble! (another practice in COlumbus wouldn't even see me because of the insurance I have) Dr C's office made it happen... the insurance approved me!!! I didn't have one bit of doubt going under the knife with Dr C!! I am 9 months out and have lost 80# I love the "tool" Dr Curry has given me in my RNY! So, everyone who is STILL knocking Dr C... DROP IT PLEASE... you don't know him like WE do... he is the BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!!!! many thanks to DR CURRY and staff!!! Deb H @ Indian Lake
