Silly post-op pouch question

Hello RNYers. I am four weeks post-op and doing pureed foods. If I have something that isn't pureed to liquid consistency, I get a feeling after one or two slow, tiny bites like my throat is filling up with air, which makes me vomit. The specific example: I shredded up a little boiled chicken to supplement lower-protein soup -- the bites were tiny, well-chewed, and I never got enough in to fill up my pouch, unless it only holds a milliliter. Has anyone had this experience? I can eat most pureed foods -- although I have to admit that I have to choke them down. Pureed foods look like to me. Sorry to be so graphic, but you'll have been there. I'm hoping this is a normal part of recovery. I appreciate the advice! The great news? I'm down 29 pounds

For some reason chicken makes me sick as well. I just have not had any luck with it. I can eat almost anything but that. Maybe it is the chicken. I am on all solids and have been since the 5th week. Take Care Barb

I appreciate the info. I think it was you who posted a while back that when somethings disagrees with you, you wait a while and try it again. That's a good idea. I'll put the chicken up for now and try it again in a week or two. When you get sick, do you get that feeling like your throat is filling up with air?
