Cant we all just get along...
I Love Cindy H and she has been a dear sweet loving friend to me. I just read a post in response to her and I feel it was pretty harshly directly at her. Its time to stop the bickering and lets get back to doing what we all do best. Supporting each other through this experience.
I usually stay out of the conflicts. But I did have to step up and at the very least let my friend know that she is loved and cared for by one crazy swimming lady here in Southeast Ohio.
I Love you Cindy H...
Life is too short to be wasting it trying to out mean each other. LOL
Love and hugs to all,
Laura aka Dory
Thank you so much Laura. I still don't know how I got so involved. I just think I get so upset and can't control myself. Very bad . I also never thought one way was better than another. My son had Banding and I had RNY. You do what ever is best for you. I have never read anything bad about DS. I am sure Dr.C has his own reasons for not performing it.Thats ok. He does extremely well because of the person he is. I get to upset and should stay out of it. I just jumped right in there lol. As long as the everyone gets the same ressults is whats the important thing. Sorry guys.I will try to control myself if this happens again.Love,Cindy
PS- Laura you are a wonderful friend and I love you for it
I hope you weren't referring to me at "that one lady stared all of this" in a negative tone? Kinda sounded that way. If i am wrong, i apoligize. I asked a question and actually never even got a response to my question. Things snowballed from there. I will rethink asking any more questions on here. This is will be my last post on the Ohio boards as well.
Laura,
Well said! Cindy is an inspiration to all of us!
I really enjoy Cindy's enthusiasm....for Dr. C. and WLS in general. I think we all love our surgeons for what they have done for us and what they do for others as well and would defend them to the nth degree!
Laura....thanks for sharing the picture! Your little friend Dominic is sure a cutie!.....and you are looking fantastic!

I too agree with you all.... OH should be about people with a common problem searching for a means to solve that problem. I hope that I didn't cause much anguish
in the recent fiasco here.
I hope to be a bit more active on the Ohio Board here at OH in the future. I hope that you will respect my desire to post contradicting views on surgeries in the future.

Hey Kevin!!
What's up? We are ging to have to meet sometime. Whenever I see a post from you, I think about the pizza dreams I once had. I think you were the first to respond that early morning. I took up a 2nd job with my new found energy. I hope we can continue to support each other. But you know, surgeons, at least weight loss surgeons, are like family. So if it seems like my surgeon is being attacked, I take it personally and so do a lot of other people. Do I mind you voicing an opinion? Of course not, you're my dude! FYI, I did extensively research the DS and thought it just wasn't right for me, due to a lot of variables I weighed and won't bore you with unless ou want me to. I even spent a lot of time on the DS board. Now, having said that, how's your hearing? Any chance of getting any of it back or is it not that bad? Keep me up to date on your life.

Hey Sharyn,
got your message this Thanksgiving morning, and thought I would respond right now. My hearing "technically" isn't any better than it was last summer when I lost it. My ability to understand what I hear has improved dramatically. I still struggle with hearing things, but I am better at concentrating on people when they talk to me.
Now as for the future of my hearing, I don't think it is going to change on its own. I go into OSU in mid-December to start some pre-testing for a Cochlear Implant. It will mean an additional operation (outpatient, or maybe one night at the hospital). Then, after it heals a couple of weeks, I will start wearing a device that looks like a standard, behind the ear hearing aid, and I should be able to hear pretty much normal in the ear with the C.I. I'm going to leave my "good" ear alone and not have one put in it, but the deaf ear will be able to hear almost normally when my device is on.
Things are looking up for me.... thanks for your response.
