Awsome!!!

This surgery is totally AWSOME!!! It has given me a second chance at living a full life... I can't believe how much better I feel after just 9 weeks from having WLS. I can do so many more things now than I could do just 9 weeks ago, that it is truly amazing!!! Before surgery, I could hardly walk from Point A to Point B without having to catch my breath and having to sit down. Now, I walk at least a mile most every day, work out at the YMCA about 3 times a week (and, am up to 20 minutes on the elyptical machine & 2 reps on the weight circuit - occasionally I swim laps for about 30 minutes). I've managed to lose a total of 68 pounds so far; 47 lbs. since my surgery & 21 lbs. just prior to WLS. As of today, I actually fit into my regular cut size 22 jeans.... something that I've not experienced in over 6 or 7 years!!! I'm also extremely excited because I get my son back from summer vacation tomorrow. He is 14 years old and has been with his Dad in Michigan for the summer. I can't wait to see how he reacts when he sees me!!!! This is going to be a very proud moment in my life, because I know that he has been worrying about his Mom for quite some time and he will be thrilled to see the difference in me!!!! Karen, That is fantastic that you are doing so well! Congrats!! You son is probably going to freak when he gets a look at you and all the energy you've got now!! Keep up the great work, you too, as well as so many others on this board are a great inspiration. Hopefully your son will quit worrying and see how great mom is doing now. God bless, Lisa

Lisa, Thanks for your reply and support!!! I see that you are scheduled for your surgery at the end of this month - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Are you getting excited?!? (Silly question!) I'm excited for you (and anyone who gets this opportunity), as it is the best thing that could have happened to me!!! It has given me my life back. I'm also looking forward to being able to ride my 2 horses again. The one, I've never ridden because my health has been so very bad since I bought him.... and, for the other one, it's been over 5 years. I am a little nervous to get back at it, but, I'm not going to let that stop me once the doctor gives me the big O.K.!!! Thanks again, and I wish you all the best with your surgery!!! Hi Karen, Yes, I am totally amped to have this surgery! I am 39 years old and feel like a senior citizen. I just want to be active again and get off my meds for HBP and Cholesterol. I have arthritis in my knees and right hip that I know will be alleviated with weight loss. I am so excited to start living life again, just as you are experiencing now. Congratulations Karen!! Your new birthday is my actual birth day. Your weight loss is awesome!!! I hope I can follow in your footsteps. Sharyn, Thanks for your reply! Yes, my son was thrilled.... the first thing he said to me when I got out of my car to greet him was that I really looked good - unsolicited, I might add!!!! Just take it one day at a time.... you, too, are doing great! Just remember, when it's gone, it's gone for good this time..... and, before you know it, the lost pounds really start to add up. On a day to day basis, it sometimes feels slow, but, when you stop to think about the last month and then two.... goodness! It is great. Thanks again, Karen
