Do any of you know how long it usually takes OSU's bariatric program to approve you? Thanks.

I have to say I went through almost three years ago and I started the ball rolling in March and my surgery was in October. In the mean time I attended dietary classes, psych eval. etc. I am not sure how it goes now but that seemed reasonable at the time. Part of that wait was waiting for approval from them and insurance. Bobbie, I had my surgery at OSU in May of 2005. I had no trouble with OSU taking too much time. Once my completed file went to the committee I heard THAT DAY that I had been approved....keep in mind it took me from Jan. 2004 to Aug. 2004 to get all of the required testing etc. completed...but the committee works very quickly. Then I had to fight my insurance company...but OSU was great! Liz Hillsboro

I sent my application to OSU in Feb 2005 and I'm now only 1 week and 3 days post op. They do work fast and efficiently.

Bobbie, After you have jumped through all the hoops for the insurance Company the wait for OSU seemed minimal. Once I had all the tests, evaluations and paperwork done, they were ready to schedule me within 2 weeks for my surgery. I was very happy at how fast everything went once all my ducks were in a row..
