I have a date!!!!

Ok, so it's only my consultation date. But it is my last step before my actual surgery date. Does anyone have any idea what the wait will be between my consultation date and my actual surgery date? Everything has been approved and I have completed all the other happy stuff. My consultation is June 7th with Dr.Needleman at OSU. I have heard the wait is about 2 months but just wanted to see if there is anyone out there that may know firsthand what the wait is.

Dawn , that is accurate. When I was going through the waiting game I ws looking at 3 months for Dr. Melvin after the consultation. I got in a lot earlier because someone cancelled. Ask them to put you on a list if there is a cancellation as long as your job will work with you. Congrats, Richard

You know, there are more doctors now. You could get in sooner. I hope so. I heard Dr. needleman is a fantastic doctor. Good Luck!

I just spoke with Shannon at OSU last week and she told me that it could be as soon as a couple weeks after meeting with the surgeon. She also said it could be longer. My insurance requires that I see the surgeon before everything is submitted to insurance. I should be getting a call from Dr. Needleman's office next week to schedule. I am really looking forward to that call. Good luck! Shellie

Dawn I went to OSU too. I was with Dr Mikami. I saw him on the 2nd of May and my surgery date was May 12th. Soooo it could be as soon as 10 days out..... Congrats!!!! It won't be long!!! Hugs, Julie

I HAD DR. NEEDLEMAN AND WHEN I MET WITH HIM, I GOT TO CHOOSE MY DATE FOR SURGERY. I LOVED HIM AS MY SURGEON, HE'S A WONDERFUL GUY. GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER AND CUTE DOESN'T HURT!!! HIS PICTURE ON THIS SITE DOES NOT DO HIM JUSTICE, HE LOOKS LIKE A DORK IN THAT PICT!!! I ALSO TALKED WITH SHANNON AND SHE SAID THE SAME TO ME AS THE ABOVE POST SAID, COULD BE WITHIN WEEKS, DEPENDING ON HIS SCHEDULE. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SURGERY AND RECOVERY. YOU'LL BE IN MY PRAYERS. Hi Dawn, Congrats on getting your appointment. I just had surgery with Dr. Needleman this past Wednesday. I only had my meeting with him the week before. I think it was an unusual cir****tance because there was an unexpected opening that quickly. I did not ask why, I guess I was just happy not to have to long to stress about things between my appointment and my surgery. Good luck. Julie
