Crossing Fingers, toes and saying prayers!

My paperwork was sent to Medical Mutual today!! I am sooooo hoping I get a quick approval!! I would appreciate all the prayers and positive thoughts I can get!! Thanks - Stacey

I have medical mutual classic. They are a nightmare. They take 3-4 weeks on each answer. Do you have your 6 month supervised diet in. They require all kind of things. History of 5 years and health problems Hope I helped Barb

Hi Barb: I have Medical Mutual Super Med Plus. I contacted them when I started this journey and got in writing what they required. I asked specifically if my plan required the six month medically supervised diet and I have it in writing from them that it is not a requirement for my plan. I am hoping that is correct because I don't have that one thing! In my packet we sent the medically necessity letter w/documentation, doctor progress notes w/my weights on them, psych evaluation, proof of non surgical weight loss attempts (I sent 15 pages of copied weigh****cher's booklets and a list of dates and diets) and a 12 page letter of my history with pictures. I sure hope it covers it all! A few people on this sight sent me suggestions on what to send so hopefully I covered everything! The only thing I know a couple people told me that wasn't included was a copy of my driver's license. So, like I said I am crossing my fingers and saying my prayers that all goes smoothly (to get so lucky)! Stacey, Good luck...I don't want to burst your bubble, but my experience with Med. Mut. was a nightmare. My paperwork was sent to them in Aug. of 2004, I battled through 3 denials and finally got them overturned on March 12, 2005. I had my surgery May 5, 2005. I am hoping that this will not be the same for you...it sounds like you have all of your bases covered...but just in case, be prepared to fight! Liz Hillsboro

Thanks Liz - I have heard all kinds of horror stories about MM. I have also heard a few good stories and that is why I am asking for prayers. Stacey, Whoohoooo! I am so happy that they are finally sending in your paperwork. Remember to give them a 7 -10 days and then call them daily! Write down who...what they said....and when you called. Remember all good things are worth waiting for! You will soon be on your way! Sue.....13 days and counting!

Stacey, I also have Medical Mutual of Ohio (SuperMed Plus) and they told me that it was a requirement for the six month diet. I had tried to get approved since Feb. 2004, (yes 2004) and I finally got approved in May of 2005 (after I hired an attorney). Good luck. and be patient. Michelle
