Too Much / Too Little
Hi Loraine, I hope things are going better for you. Are you getting more comfortable now since you have been home? I was eatting 1/4 to 1/2 cup at a time. Sometimes less, sometimes more. I listened to my stomach. I found that I could not eat as much in the mornign as I could at lunch or dinner. I figured it was because my stomach would shrink a little over night because I was n't eatting then. So at lunch and dinner it was a little stretched because of breakfast and other things like water. Good Luck! Richard
I was eating about 1/4 cup at a time. However, my hubby was eating a little more than I was. I agree with Richard on the fact that you just have to learn to listen to your pouch. Sometimes I could do more, sometimes less. It also depends on how slow/fast you eat. The faster I eat, the less I get in, and that has always been my sticky area. 12 years of nursing gets you in a bad habit of throwing the food down. So, the slower I eat, the more I can get in.
Consistency is another issue early out. The thinner it is the more you will be able to do in one setting.
This is the learning part. If you can only get two tablespoons in at a time that's fine. It will get to be larger amounts as time goes on!
Goodluck!
Val
I take my hat off to you that you can actually get creamed soup past your nose! I never liked canned creamed soups before, and now they do not appeal to me at all...but I HAVE had some tomato soup come to think of it.
I had 1/2 cup and stirred and ounce of ricotta cheese into it...it ALMOST tasted like lasagne!!!
i've been really dragging my meals out too. I somtimes forget and find myself almost wolfing something down....then I get a reality check and slow down.
