So I read a post on the main board about um poop and am really curious..I see how some people talk alot about constipation...then the other day I read a post about someone/several people who had their gall bladders out and are having diarhea (sp) or just regular gotta get to the bathroom poop but they like feel the urge and gotta get to a bathroom like NOW or else..no 10 minute grace period like 1-2 minutes or a mess...I am worried about this being pre op..my gall bladder IS going to be removed and I can't imagine sitting here then feeling like I gotta go and start up my steps and fill my pants before I get to the bathroom..that would be AWFUL!!!! Or taking my son to the bus stop (15 min away) and waiting on the bus and well there not being enough time and um whoops..? that would suck!!! Please educate me...lol thx!!

I still have my gallbladder, I've been taking Actigal since after surgery until (YAY) it runs out, or 6 months post-op. I have for the most part always had an growchy bowel. I can't go anywhere but home, makes long weekends and vacations, not too fun, and if I get too wound up, I can't go for days, I have to really set aside time and go in there and relax. This is hard when one is working and has life, etc. If something upsets my schedule, I'm thrown off for days.
I don't know if this is because I still have my gallbladder or its just how my system works. I am wondering what will happen now once I am off of the Actigal ??
So I can't give any advice on the oops poopin ?, I think everyone is just different in that area, just like we are in life.
hugs,

Hi Tema!
I had my gall bladder out in 1996 and had many bouts of diarrhea shortly afterwards. At the time, it seemed anything spicy (whether it was spicy to me or not), some dairy products, and of course, alcoholic beverages would make me intimate with the Tidy Bowl Man. After a few months, that wore off.
Prior to the WLS, my bowels seemed to be in tune with my horomones and menstrual cycle. I would get constipated during ovulation and diarrhea during Aunt Flo's visits. Since having the WLS, it's changed a little... I still have constipation with ovulation, but now instead of diarrhea with Aunt Flo, I now just have loose stools and horrible gas pains.
Since you're gall bladder is coming out too, I would carefully watch your body for signs. Like if you notice diarrhea coming on, write down what you last ate (and ate before that). This way, if you can pinpoint it to certain foods and drinks, you will know to avoid them - especially at certain times (like going to the bus stop).
Good Luck!
