I'm back!..5 days out
Hi everyone!
Laura and I had our surgeries one day apart last week. I had intended to go see her on the 10th floor, but something with my blood sugar levels went haywire and I was a sick puny kitten....but I am home now and doing well.
I haven't had a chance to talk to Laura since Sat. as I am just now decending from the 2nd floor tower in search of email and contact with everyone on this board.
Laura and I both had Dr. Mikami, whom we love. Poor laura had some major care issues at the hospital and I am hoping you are okay now gilr!!!
I am having no problems with the step 2 diet, but I am still very sore in one area of my abdomen and feel rather "spent" still.
I take my hat off to those of you who go back to work after 2 weeks post-op...you must be super-humans, OR really young!!! My "bounce-back-ability" is CERTAINLY not what it used to be!!!
A wonderful man and his wife came to visit my husband and I in the hospital... RICHARD WILSON!!! THANK YOU so much for your words of encouragement and sweet generosity to complete strangers!! Your wife is a jewel, but I'm sure you already know that!
By the way Richared...my husband made cocoa-wheats for me! You made an impression on him!!!
Laura....are you out there girl???
Love to every one, and thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers!

I am so glad you are doing so well. I know what it was like for me. I did pretty well, but everyone is different. Just take it easy and remember walk , walk , walk. I am so sorry for loraines stay in the hospital. It sounds like it didn't go well for her. It was very nice to meet you and your husband. I didn't need my pain meds so much for the day but I used them at night so I could sleep well.
So how were the CoCo wheats? LOL. I could have lived on them. They are filling, warm and I thought they tasted pretty good considering what you have to eat.
Hopefully, The four or six of us can meet under different cir****tances. I hope I can help you in any way possible. ANd I thought you and your husband were great. A little out of it, but great!!! Well you were anyway lol. Good Luck and let me know how you are doing. Richard
Julie, as long as you know what you are and are not allowed to have/do/need, you'll be fine...and at OSU we are very well prepared for this surgery. Unfortunately 100% of the staff do not go through our classes.
Laura's morphine pump malfunctioned. I can't imagine what she went through. My advice would be to not suffer in silence.
also you must take into consideration that she and I are older than you, and trust me, that does make a difference!

Liz,
I'm so very glad to see you able to get back online after just 5 days from surgery!!!! It really helps my anxiety level a bit, as I am now starting to have panic attacks about having surgery. I still don't have a date, but, expect one any day now.
Good seeing your post!!!! Please take care & follow doctor's orders.... I'll be looking forward to your updates!!!!
Thanks & God Bless,
Karen G.
I am completely thrilled about being able to eat cocoa wheats. I am sending my son to the store as soon as this storm is over. I am wanting something a little bit different and that hits the spot.
I am really doing well since i am home from the hospital. My bed is wonderful and I love setting my own routine.
I am so Thankful to God that I made it through the surgery and have had a easy trip so far. Keep the prayers coming.
Love you all
Laura
