Steubenville, Alliance..anyone?

Hi I was wondering if there were any surgeons around the Steubenville or Alliance areas that do the Gastric Bypass? I looked on the Ohio page for surgeons but it seems pretty generic with not much info available, I'm sure there are plenty more surgeons in ohio that do this proceedure..does anyone know anything?? Tema, I am an RN and I work at Alliance Hospital. No one there is doing WLS. Many of us at the hopital have had surgery. I went to Columbus as did a couple of others. They have gone to St. Vincent's in Cleveland too. I know that Akron General has a program and so does St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown. I don't know anything about these programs. Youngstown may not be a bad drive from E. Liverpool. Good Luck, Terri

Is there more than one hospital in Alliance? I can't imagine there is because I have been to Alliance several times and didn't think it was that big, but I have a friend who knows a lady who actually has plans on having surgery in Alliance..? Hmm, that's weird!!

Nope, only one hospital in Alliance. There is an outpatient surgery center, but this wouldn't be done outpatient. I have been off since surgery, but I heard nothing of this before. I wonder if one of the general surgeons is doing some WLS????? There hasn't been any info in the local paper either. If I had a name I would know. But, we only have 3 general surgeons anyways. We are small! I would have had much better insurance coverage if I could have done it at Alliance.

Hi Tema, I had my surgery done July 19th in Pittsburgh by Dr. Joesph Colella at Allegheny General. I lived in Lisbon at the time, we since have moved o Salem...I would recommend my surgeon in a heart beat to you. he is great. If you need any info, please fell free to email me. He is closer than going to Columbus. I know there were some surgeons at St. E's that did WLS too but i know little about them either.....Let me know....East Liverpool (I grew up there) is not that far from pittsburgh. Patty

I've heard there is a surgeon in Steubenville but I've not heard good things about him at all. My sister works down in Wheeling at one of the hospitals and said there is a pretty good surgeon down there that does the surgery. Good luck in your journey.
