Question of the day?????
I know, I know...It's been awhile since I posted one of these, but I missed you all in my busyness and I wanted to drum up a few fun responses soooo..
Do you have any vacation plans this summer? If so, for post-ops, how will your vacation this year be different from vacations in the past? Are there some summertime activities you used to avoid in the past that you are looking forward to this year. And for pre-ops, what are some things you are doing to prepare for your upcoming surgeries? What do you think will be different next summer from this one?
I am going home to Seattle this summer. I imagine that friends and family who haven't seen me in 4 years will be quite shocked at the change in me. No one has seen me since surgery (except my Mom and sister the week after) and since I saw everyone else I have lost 116#
I am excited about flying on an airplane without overlapping the seat and not having to work really hard to avoid the seatbelt extender and I am looking forward to hiking in the mountains without being exhausted.
This year I will not stay behind when my family goes to a baseball game. I will actually fit in the stadium seats! I will go to a waterpark and pool and not feel so self-conscious and I will not avoid doing things that involve walking because I am afraid of getting tired. My family doesn't know it yet, but they are going to have to work to keep up with me! Ha ha ha!
I look forward to seeing all of your answers!
Hugs,
Jaimee
Hey Jaimee!!
Glad to see your smiling face back on the boards! 116!! You go girl!!
That's so awesome!
Earl and I are going on a cruise in September. We always said we would do it if we ever lost weight. Well we did, and we are treating ourselves to a 7 day cruise. We are flying (Earl's never flown) to Lousianna two days before the ship leaves and enjoying the "Big Easy". I can hardly wait. I am so excited. I am glad I won't be asking for that seat belt extender either...man that was soooo embarrasing! I think we are gonna go 1st class, it will be easier for Earl being that he is 6'3" tall.
Otherwise, the rest of the summer will be spent enjoying the outdoors, lounging by the pool, and working of course. But I just love that we have then energy to do yard work. It was a chore before, now it's a blast!
I can see us getting into it over who gets to mow the grass! We both love to do it because it's a great workout!
Enjoy your summer!
Val

we had the bike out last week... hubby said that he now has more room and the bike is easier to handle since I have lost weight
I just can not wait until we get our pontoon boat in the water... this year I will NOT be hiding under a caftan ~

have a good'n everyone!!!

Well - I am pre - op and am not planning a vacation this year because I will be using my vacation and sick time for surgery (hopefully I wil be approved). To prepare for surgery: I have began taking biotin, tasting some protien supplements, trying to wean myself off caffiene and sugar, and continuiing to educate and prepare myself!
Next summer - I hope to have the best vacation ever! My parents bought a retirement house on the beach in Mexico last year. My kids and I went last summer and had a fabulous time. I am going to go next summer and it is going to be even better - I know it! I will not feel like a beached whale laying in the sun! I will ride the wave runners and bannana boat (which I wouldn't do last summer) without fear of totally humiliating myself by sinking or falling and not being able to get back on! I will also be able to shop, shop, shop and hopefully not feel like I am going to drop! Awwww - it is such a wonderful thing to look forward too!!
Enjoy the sunshine - Stacey
Can I stow away to mexico in your luggage? LOL!!! I have always wanted to go on a vacation there. What part of Mexico is it in? My parents go to Cozumel every few years. At some point my family, my parents and my sister's family plan to go there for a group vacation. From what I hear, the people are very nice down there.
Riding the wave runners is a good goal. Make sure someone gets a picture of you when you do!
Hugs,
JAimee
Hi Jamie - You are more than welcome to stow away in my luggage and with your weight loss I am sure it would be an easy fit !! My parent's house is in Estero Beach resort. It is in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. The resort is beautiful and the tourist area of Ensenada is nice (the rest of Ensenada you can definitely tell it's Mexico: the poverty is pretty evident). It is nice because it's only about three hours up the peninsula from San Diego. I love it. My daughter is going to go without me this summer - since I am saving my time off for surgery (fingers crossed). My son (he's too young to go without an adult) and I will be jealous. I know the surgery is/will be worth it though!! It would be perfect if I could have the surgery while she is in Mexico (just thought about that).
Hugs - Stacey
Oh yeah - and if I am riding a wave runner - you can bet there will not only be pictures but on video!!
