supervised diet

with the 6 month dr. supervised diet do u have to lose a certain amount of weight berfore the insurance will approve it?by the way i have qualchoice.i know that they make you do the diet so they can see if u can follow it but how much do they expect u to lose. sorry to repeat my self but i still have 4 more months of it to finish. thank you for any and all responses rich

Rich, No they don't have to see a certain amount of weight loss. But like you said they do want to make sure you can follow directions. Even if your insurance doesn't require the 6 month diet...UH does! So either way you have to do it! You are also in great hands with Dr. Stellato! I have Dr. Jasper at UH! I am really impressed with the whole program! My surgery is on June 1st! Sue

I have to do a 3 month program and was told that I am expected to loose 5-8 percent of my total body weight. I would think that would still be sufficient for the 6 month program, as well. Good luck! Shellie
