I cant seem to lose at all. I have been here for over 2 months. Does this mean I am finished after only 8 months. I want to get to 100 and I am close. I am getting a little upset lol. Any word of advise. I exercise(walk and curves) and I eat right .

Cindy- I am still pre op BUT I have been reading ALOT and from what I've been reading MY personal plan for when I hit plateaus is to try a few different things, 1 would be to up water intake like crazy and cut out carbs as much as possible and up the protein like crazy too- I have read where people had done that and it got them losing again, then 2 I would try to start protein shakes- my friend Julie does that and it seems to help her, then 3 I would try to go back to liquids for a week then add in my number 1 and 2 ideas the following week, with all the excersizing you do if you tried these things I bet they would work. It sounds like it would work anyway. I hope you find something to work for you cuz these plateaus sound like they are a little depressing...I'm sure something will work for you beings you're only 8 months out. Good luck!! ~Tema~

I stopped losing at around nine or 10 months. Of course I lost over 200 pounds in those months. I lost nothing over the next six to seven months and then I went back to carbs below 20 and the scale started to move again. I hope it keeps moving because I am still 30 pounds from goal. Of course I have a ton of skin that makes up some of that weight too. Cheryl

Hi Cindy, I am just a few months ahead of you. I went through the same thing at about the same time. My friends from the support group helped me to see that I had lowered my calorie count to much in the race to lose that 100 pounds. I would suggest that you write down what you eat in a day and figure out the calorie count. Could you not be eating enough or maybe eating the wrong things? Just a thought. But keep working at it and it will come off. It is a time now when you really have to start thinking of the surgery as a tool and not a cure. I hope that was not to blunt. I am still struggling daily because eating is a lot easier now. Good luck. After 8 months and being close to 100 is fantastic.
