Hey guys, Its been so long since I had a chance to check in. My life has been full throdle since surgery. I'm down to 186 pounds, 39 % body fat. I've lost 129 ponds since my surgery 6/29/04. I had a sluggish period I cured with subligual B12. The hair loss was short spanned thank God. I have issues with the extra skin more than anything. I've been thinking about consulting a plastic surgeon, but I know its too early. I'm only 8 months out and down 130 pounds, I figured this to be my total loss, not just 8 months out. I'm not complaining, believe me! Anyone have any or have been given any good advise to plastic surgery after WLS? Gotta run for now, it's non stop! lol Take care all! You are all in my prayers and thoughts. Ang

First...YEAH!!! KUDOS FOR YOU!! You are doing awesome girl! Second, I have talked to three different plastic surgeons, and I think the feeling is to wait, at least a year or more out. Because you can have lengthy plateaus, and with just time in general, some of the skin may actually resolve a little on it's own. I know I am almost 2 years out and my arms have tightened up quite a bit with weight training, my legs are improving, and the tummy, well it will need tucked eventually, but the breasts are hopeless remnants of what they once were...never to return again... *sigh* ... By waiting you can optimize your weight loss, and when they tuck you up you will have better results. Hope this helped. I am in the process of getting my insurance to cover my breast lift. I have been denied and it is going to the appeal board. Another piece of advice...find out what the parameters for reconstructive surgery are. Might save you a load of work down the road. Hugs, Val
