support group close by??

Hi ~ I live at Indian Lake (it is between Bellefontaine and Lima) I have heard of no support groups for WLS other than in Cinci, Columbus & Dayton. I was wondering if there are groups in the above mentioned towns or even is Springfield (an hour's drive) I hate to think that I will have to do Over-nighters each time I want to attend a meeting. thanks ~Deb

I know they have one in Columbus at OSU... I will try to get more information for you... I know that Valarie Curry goes to the one in Columbus at OSU... I will try to dig up some more information for you!!

Hi Paula. Thank you for the info. I am aware there are several WLS support groups in Columbus! (and the may WLS providers OSU, Mt Carmel & Barix) I hate the thought of the hour and a half one way drive, especailly at night! I guess I am hoping for Urbana, Lima, or even Marysville.... thank you again ~Deb

Hey! That's me! Did you ever think about trying to start a support group out where you are? I know it is a long long drive to make especially after it's over with! Sometimes the best way to get a group going is just to get a few people together and go from there! What I was hoping to do when the weather got nicer, was get a bunch of us together on a Saturday and have a big ol get together somewhere, you know, cook out, etc. Now, that would be worth the 1 1/2 hour drive! Hi Valerie! Yes I have thought about starting a support group in this area. I know there are a LOT of folks who have had WLS in this "neck of the woods". A Big Ol get Together??? YES! That would be so much fun!! Thanks again~ Deb

Yes, yes! WLS social hour... I'm definitely up for this when the weather gets nicer! Maybe we could even organize a bike ride or hike or something...

I live in Marysville. If you come up with something near here, let me know. I would attend. I know I will be going to the OSU ones as well, but I know there will be days that I will not want to drive that far. Thanks Julie
