Dr. Bradley Needleman???
I was just wondering if any of you have had the opportunity to meet with him or if he did your surgery? I plan on scheduling a consultation with him. Is there anything I should do before I meet with him? Is he a friendly doctor? Is his office a good ways to walk once u park? I have a bad knee and can't shuffle like i used to ;) thanks.
Hi Ashlee! I had lap band surgery with Dr. Needleman on 12/2/04. He is a very nice Dr. and was patient with my questions during the pre-op appt. I had done a ton of research and had 2 pages of questions for him. He laughed and read over them answering each one.
He is not as strict as other Dr's I've read about as far as post-op diet progression and fill schedule. He seems to be a believer in working with the individual and how their body reacts to foods or fills, not just going by what the book says. I like that in a Dr!
His office is in a larger building, but each office has it's own door. I'm sure it depends on what time of day you are there, but so far in the mornings I've been able to get a close space and walk right in the door. There is parking right at the front of the door on both sides. You don't have to walk too far once you are in there either.
The office staff has been very nice too - busy, but very nice!
Best of luck to you!
Pam
Hi Ashlee!
Although he didn't do my surgery I know Dr. Needleman very well. He is a wonderful person and a terrific surgeon! We are very fortunate to have great surgeons. Dr. Mikami is the other surgeon you may see too. He is working with Dr. Needleman now, and he's just awesome too!
The office they have has decent parking so it shouldn't be too bad for you!
Have you been to an info session yet? We have them the first Thursday of every month, the next one being this week at 6pm. It is a good way to get some basic information before you get the ball rolling.
I will be at the next info session too! Along with my friend Nichole. We have both had wls through OSU.
Good luck with your journey. I think you have picked an awesome place to have your surgery through. If there is anything else I can help you with let me know.
We have a flyer for the info sessions and we also have support groups for those who are waiting on surgery are new or us old post ops! It's a great way to meet people and get some of your questions answered too. If you would like to email me your email address I would be more than happy to send it to you!
Take care,
Valerie
Ashlee,
I think part of OSU hospitals testing is to see if you can live long enough to get to your appointments. I used the Valet parking and greatly reduced the amount of walking. But with my bad feet and knees I was ready for a wheelchair before I got to his office. LOL I guess they want to know you REALLY WANT the surgery..
I am four weeks away from my surgery, just finishing the dietary requirements and having my surgery on my 44th birthday.. My Rebirthday.
Take care,
Laura
