I am so bored this weekend. Since I have been sitting around the house, all I want to do it eat. Will this head hunger ever go away? Why does it have such a hold on me? I have read and talked to others that say that it goes away and becomes less important. Have I done something wrong to have mine still be so strong? Cheryl

Cheryl, I imagine that comes and goes, like the tide ... (course, what do I know - I'm not that far out). My only tip is, drink more fluids! slosh slosh Your first sentence is probably the tipoff ... you are bored. If you are like me, you have turned to food for comfort and entertainment. A couple of days ago, I was also having that head hunger. I find that I have it often at night, when my husband is at work - I'm getting ready for bed but keep peeking in the refrigerator. I know, it's bad! So, get busy and cause some trouble! Post more stuff on the board! Do anything - you and me gotta change that habit. Kitty B. RNY 12/13/04 251 / 201

I will just have to stay busy and keep from getting bored. I usually am busy, I think that is why this weekend with nothing to do hit me like a brick wall. It scared me that I could so easily have those feelings be so stong. Cheryl

Ok, thanks Darla!! I am going to give it the old College try. Wait, I gained weight in College. Wait, I gained weight no matter what I did! Maybe I am in the wrong boat? I am like in the boat on Willy Wonka where the stream is made of Chocolate. I need to get on the protein boat!! Cheryl

Cheryl! Hey! Val here! I know that sucks! I have that habit too, you know the one where you go to the fridge to see what the food fairy has left you between the last time you checked it 15 minutes ago? Yep, that one. I am like you a boredom eater. And activity is the key. I also found the best way for me to deal with it is my workouts. Yep, pumping the iron. Oh sure, I am starved after I workout, but I know I am feeding a physical hunger, not head hunger. I try to keep myself so busy that I have to remind myself to eat. Take today for instance. We are going to go get Meggie a bed, go to a bird show at the fair grounds, and then go work out. I also have my laundry to do to get ready for work and send out emails for the support group. My mom thinks I am doing to much...oh well, keeps my mind and body busy and I don't have time to think about eating. You know there's always an open invite to get together on the weekends with us too!! You'd have too much fun to think about eating all day! Because that's the kind of fun person I am!!! (modest too!) Hang in! Val

Val, I know it was boredom. The kids were gone and Bo was out of town and I was alone and it hit me hard. I must have it really bad because I missed him so much that I could not stand it. Lord help me. Cheryl
