What is a normal amount of weight to lose in a week?
I had my surgery on December 1 and have lost 60lbs. Which I am very happy about! My weight loss has slowed down. I have been losing about 3 or 4 lbs a week lately. This has been happening for about the last month or so. Is this normal or should I be losing more? Just curious to know what is normal.
Just wanted to also share with you how wonderful it feels not to have to shop in the plus size department anymore! I went shopping the other day for the first time since the surgery. It was the first time in years that I didn't leave the store in tears because I felt like I looked horrible in everything! For once I left feeling like I looked good in the clothes! I also realized that they have a lot better sales in the normal size clothes!
Hi Melinda,
I had WLS 7 months ago and am down 95 lbs so far.....I too have noticed the further out i am, the slower the process goes....I know alot of people have lost more than me but we are all different and our bodies react accordingly. 60 lbs is really great.....just think gone and never to return. and whenever have you had the ability to lose even 3-4 lbs a week......it is wonderful we were given this tool to improve our lives. As for clothes.....I love shopping now.....no more plus sizes for me, though i still tend to wander over that way just because my mind keeps telling me i still have to wear those clothes.....lol.....it is a struggle somedays not to buy something for myself.....though i am slowing down in shopping cause i now have alot more things i have "shrunk" out of.....
Keep up the good work......Just remember our keys words.....exercise......protein..and water.....It is truly a blessing in disguise for us.....I wish i had the courage to do it years ago.......
Good luck....Patty
Melinda,
CONGRATULATIONS on the 60 pounds! That is really great!
I was in wallyworld yesterday and found myself "wandering" back into the plus sizes, just because that is where I am used to going. Had to ease myself away from the plus size department, reminding myself that they didn't have my size over there! And not only do they have better sales, but they also have cuter clothes and lots more of them! Didn't buy anything that day but certainly enjoyed the shopping. Can it be, that I really won't have to constantly look for Xs on my tags anymore??

I have the same problem. I always think I am bigger then I am. I am in love with Chicos clothes. I am spending way to much on myself and loving every minute. Its so much fun when the salesgirl says that x-large is way to big for you. I cant believe I can wear a med. pant (stretchy waist) I cant wear buttons because my remaining 31 lbs is all in my tummy lol. I cant believe I weigh 177. After 268 for years this is a blast. I am certainly not thin but I am healthy. Does anyone have the problem of being a little conceited now???? I do,thats what my family says and they laugh. I have never felt so good. Thanks Dr.Curry.Cindy
Hi Melinda, I am about the same out as you My surgery was Nov. 29th and I am also down 60 pounds. That seems reasonable. I am very happy with my loss so far. I actually had someone tell me I'm stunning tonight. Imagine that??? Ugly duckling me being called stunning. (not completely true, but I'll grab the compliment when it is given, ha ha!!!) I ws also told by someone that they never thought of me as fat. Has anyone said that to you? 300 + pounds isn't exactly invisible. I feel so great physically. I am so thankful for each and every puound I lose. I am now easily fitting into Xlg and even some LG although the jeans are still about a 20. Congratulations on you weight loss!
Hugs,
