Self Pay question

I have got approval from my current insurance company for the surgery but I have a $10,000 cap on the surgery. So that means that I would have to pay the difference. Does anyone know how much Dr. Curry charges for the surgery for a self pay person? I have fought with Medical Mutual of Ohio for over a year now trying to get approval, but they will not approve me. So on Jan. 1, 2005 the company that I work for dropped Medical Mutual as our carrier. I submitted some of my paperwork to my new insurance and they approved me within 3 days.

Hi Michelle, I am Dr. Curry's Insurance Coordinator and I can try to answer some of your questions. If you were a self pay (no insurance involved) and you wanted the Lap Band, it would cost $13,000. The Gastric Bypass is $17,500. This does not include any complications, initial consult and a few other things-but, I just wanted to give you a general idea. Now, as far as your insurance approving you and your $10,000 cap-I could better help you if I know who your insurance carrier is now.
