Great Eastside Group Meeting

Some of you missed a fantastic support group meeting last night. The newly-formed Eastside Gastric Bypass Support Group met for the first time and it was great. Jaimee has worked really hard on this and did an excellent job of putting it together. She is such a sweetheart- and so organized!!! There was lots of sharing and we received some wonderful hand-outs, along with a great talk on "dumping". Most of the people there were post-op, but as a pre-op, I found lots of helpful advice and reassurance. We even tasted some products and now I have a few "must have" things on my post-op grocery list. Please think about coming to the March meeting. You'll have a good time and meet some nice people. I am glad to hear that the meeting went great. I wanted so bad to go last night. I even changed my schedule at work so I could attend. But as my luck would go around 2:30 I ended up with a migraine headache. I went to bed and did not get up util 7:00. Hopefully I will be there at the March meeting. Meet you there... Hugs, Lisa

Nancy, I am so glad you came Monday night. It WAS a good meeting. It was very personal and I felt like we were all able to give positive imput to the conversation. I hope everyone comes back for the next one. I plan to have more samples of yummy products for everyone to try. The topic will most likely be cooking techniques and how we can work to make tasty, nutritious meals that are appropriate for post-ops. I am working hard to plan the first official group activity soon. I will give more details at the next meeting. Hugs, Jaimee
