feedback please
I am 4 months out, I have not lost any weight since my last doctor appointment 1 month ago. Also, it seems I have terrible cravings now, chocolate, sweets in general. I have twice now eaten a whole candybar with little or no side effects. Is this normal? Also, is there anyone conteplating pregnancy since surgery?
Thanks
Julie, if you aren't losing weight and you are eating the wrong things, I would suggest going back to the liquid diet for a few days to get yourself back on track then go back to the basics. Focus on getting protien in, then veggies and then carbs if you have room. Keep something on hand for if you really need sweets. I have found that sugar free fudgesicles are a good alternative or you could get one of the sf treats they have on Bariatric eating like the blondie or a power crunch cookie. Don't beat yourself up for straying from your post-op diet, but do get back on track. Also, are you attending support group meetings regularly> If not, you might want to get yourself to one. Next Monday will be the first meeting for Eastside Bariatric support. I am heading this up with the help of some very successful post-ops. This is not affiliated with a specific surgeon or hospital and anyone is welcome. The focus of this group will be on post-op lifestyle. We will be sharing strategies, recipes and old clothes. LOL!!! I am planning some really fun things outside of the meetings. If you would like more information, please e-mail me and I will give you the details. It has been shown that the most successful post-ops are the ones who attend support group meetings regularly and have accountability with their peers.
