Psych Eval Tomorrow
Hello,
I am going tomorrow for my Psych Eval. The Doctor advised me I would be there for about 2 hours. Can someone please give me a heads up on what to expect? This is the final step for me. Once the surgeon gets the ok from the psych eval, I will get my definate date. It seems like what all I have went through since last July this should be easy for me , however it has my nerves tore up. (maybe becuase I quit smoking ) however by knowing what to expect will make it easier.
Thanks Bunches,
Lisa
I saw the psychologist on Friday. There was a true/false test that was very easy. Then he asked questions about why I ate, when I ate, how motivated I was to change my eating habits and what stressors/supports I had in my life. I was a bit apprehensive too, but really it was nothing! Just give some thought to why you are doing this and answer the questions honestly and you will do great!
Basically they just want to know a little about you and why you are wanting the surgery.
Then after the one on one evaluation you take a test. Mine was a 300 questions of true or false. It was not that hard, some questions just trying to get into your mind. Like did or do you love your Mother/Father?
Hope it goes well for you...
Julie
Lisa,
Good luck with the eval! The first session I had was an hour long and we just talked. I went back the following week and all she did was have me do testing. I took 3 different tests totally over 775 questions. Most were true/false. The others were giving you a range on how you react to different things.....nothing difficult at all! Just remember really read the questions. I think they try to trip you up on some of them. Some are repeated 3 or 4 times just worded differently.
My surgeon's office told me that I had NO red flags on my eval. She said that she is impressed because there are usually some red flags.
Now if only my insurance would approve me! Oh well....I am patient!
Hope all goes well for you.....just relax and be yourself!
Sue
Lisa,
When I had my psych eval, I wore pink sweat pants and a size medium Winger T-shirt. I also got into an arguement with myself while in the waiting room. I still passed the eval.

Just kidding.....I had a 50 question T/F sheet and a 45 minute conversation about my life with the Dr. No sweat...
