Double Update!
Ok, I did some visitin' tonight after work and I have great news on not ONE but TWO of our family at OSU!
First I went to see Jeremy in his new digs up on the 11th floor. He was awake, and "talking" and seemed to be doing MUCH better than the last time I saw him. This time Roberta and his dad were there! Yeah, I finally got to meet some family too. I can see a difference in him already. Like Kirk said, he's off dialyisis and making lots of pee on his own!! WOO HOO so kidney function is back, liver is doing good. He's down to an assist of 12 on the vent (meaning the vent will deliver 12 breaths a minute the rest he does on his own!) His spirits seem really good. He has been tolerating the diet they have him on, the only time he gets nauseated is when he gets suctioned and that elicits the gag reflex! ew...it would get me too! But it was so great to see him doing that good. It's going to be a long road still, but he's got the will power, the family and all the prayers to support him. The only downside to the transfer is the room they have him in now is really small. He did have a fever tonight when I went to see him, it was up to 104 today but it had been coming down prior to my visit. They are still working on that nasty pseudomonas that he has in his lungs. But they feel that they should be able to kick it. That was a great visit!
Then I went to see Sister Georgie. I knew she'd want to know how Jeremy was so I knew I better have a report for her when I went to see her! She is doing awesome folks! She is still in SICU, but she's off the vent, still has an NG tube down, but was up in the walker for a little bit today and sitting at the bedside. She said she is very comfortable, just looking forward to getting some water to drink. She said she did have a little bit of a sinus infection but that was getting better. She just looked great. She was just snoozin' away when I went in! She said that everyone has been great to her.
So, I had a very nice ending to my work day. Two very awesome people are doing so good! Jeremy is coming out of the woods and Sister Georgie is just marching right along.
They both appreciate all the prayers and the concerns of everyone here at OH! Thanks gang!
Hugs,
Valerie

awww...I'm glad to hear they are doing fine. I pray for them daily. I want to be a loser like ya'all, but man, I am sooooo scared! Hopefully I will overcome this! Thanks for the update Valerie!
Paula, you are a sweetie! I got my card at work today!!!
Thank you so much. What a nice suprise to come in and find it on my desk, my work day started with a smile!
I am glad you were able to get something from it. My goal is to help out as much as I can. I have been there done that and know how it feels to be in those shoes. So, let me know if there's anything else I can help you with and I will do my best.
Good luck and let me know when your big day is!!
Hugs,
Valerie
(((((((VAL))))))) Hi stranger, (stranger than what I don't know yet). I haven't been keeping up with the Ohio boards, I know, shame on me. So what happened with Sister Georgie? I thought she had surgery some time ago, so, please fill me in. Haven't heard from you for so long. What's up? Any news on your TT yet? Hope you find out and get it done soon so you'll be even more beautiful for your cruise this Sept!!! So now, sit down and write me a note or two about what's going on. Take care and you know I wuvs ya!!! Hugs, Susie
Oh Susie! I am so busy anymore, I have gotten your emails, and I still love ya, just trying to pack too much into my days sometimes.
I will email you tonight and get you update on everything! Promise. Even my mom wonders where I have been! Just workin' what's left of my butt off these days...and you know dealing with the teenagers in my life!
Be good or be good at it!
HUGS!
