Received approval-NOW what?

Well my insurance came through-i'm approved!! The Coordinator said that she needs to schedule me for 2 appts. and my surgery date. What I am wondering is what the two appointments will consist of. I know every Dr. is different but can anyone give me insight into what I might expect? I am sooo nervous now. Everything is freaking me out. Especially the thought of loose skin. I don't know why but this is haunting me more than anything. I know its a reality but it stinks!!

Have you had your Psyc Evaluation yet? Or the sleep apnea test? It could be those. Most surgeons require them. I also have fears of the skin. I am in my mid 30's and not to concerned about ever wearing a bikini or anything like that, I am worried about the bat wings and my legs. I know it is so hard to get insurance to pay for plastic surgery. I decided to get through the surgery first and worry about the plastic surgery later. (just one worry at a time please) Lisa

Congrats on your approval! Hey, I have the bat wings and hanging skin and you know what? It doesnt bother me like I thought it would. I admit it isn't the most attractive thing, but when I think of all the fat that I lost well, I can put the hanging skin into perspective. Besides, I just ace bandage my arms up. Linda, I am going to UH too! I also live in Barberton....small world! You can always call and asked them what next. I am sure that they will tell you! I haven't gotten approval yet from our insurance. We are appealling it and Nicole is re-submitting it in April. She has been wonderful to me....really helping with the insurance. They said I didn't have a 6 month supervised diet...I did...but there wasn't enough documentation. Anyway....look at UH's site. I know that you have to go to a meeting with the dietition and then there are a lot of other tests (breathing, heart, blood, anethesiologist....etc.....also you meet Dr. Stellato before hand and he will go over the surgery and what to expect. Oh....I go to Dr. Jasper. I really liked him. I go to get re-evaluated in April. If insurance doesn't go through then I will self-pay. Do you go to the pre-op support group meetings? I have been going the last two months and am going again in February. I hope that I have helped a little.....I am not where you are yet...but will be in April! Sue
