Curves Anyone?

Does anyone here have membership to Curves? A new Curves opened in Greenfield, Ohio and I was thinking about joining. Is it worth it? It is either Curves or the YMCA. Family membership at the YMCA is around $45 a month. With the YMCA, the family could go but the kids have busy schedules with work and school and hubby could only go in the evenings after work IF he felt like it. I wish to work out in the mornings while the kids are at school and huby is at work. Which is the best deal for the money? I know Curves has the 30 minute workout, but do they let you pick your own workout also? Where do you work out at?

Hi.....I belong to Curves and really like it. It is $30 a month here in Celina Ohio. I assume it is the same everywhere. We have thirteen machines and a recovery pad between each one. They say thirty minutes on Curves machines is equal to 1 1/2 hour workout. You can go and check it out for free, They will let you try all machines and then decide what you want to do. I like it because it only takes thirty minutes unless you decide to go around 3 times instead of two which is up to you. They say 30 minutes 3 times a week is good. I try to go more often. Good luck wherever you decide to go. Anna L Archer [email protected]

Hi, I belong to Curves and I really like it. I am a little shy to work out in front of a lot of people and the atmosphere is more comfortable for me. I pay about $32 a month here in Eaton, OH. The women are great, and the machines are not hard. You get to recover between each machine, which is great. Good luck, and God Bless.

I belong to Curves also. It is great. As they have said it is only a 30 minute workout and you are on each piece of equipment for 30 seconds each. You don't count repetitions, you go at your own pace on each machine and recovery block for 30 seconds each. There is no need to pick your own workout because it is structured to different body needs. If there is a piece of equipment that is too difficult for you to do you can do something beside it instead. I think it is great because it is all women and you only have to use 30 minutes of your day. Tara

Hi, I just joined Curves on New years eve of 2004. I only signed up for the month to month to make certain I could do it with my osteoarthritis in both knees and lymphedema in both legs. I WILL be signing up for the year membership where they automatically withdraw 29 dollars per month from my checking account. I love going there, it is not too strenuous and I even have to slow myself down because my heartrate gets too high (during the workout you check your pulse for 10 seconds at least 3 times to make certain you are getting in the aerobic but not working yourself too hard). I am always energized and happy (seriously I find myself smiling thru out the day) on the days I go to Curves, it truly is the best thing I have done for myself since having wls. Try it for a month and see if you like it or it you need more. Good luck with whatever you choose.
