2 DAYS TO GO
Hi Jeffrey!
I know Dr. Needleman very well. I do know that the usual cut off for lap surgery weight wise is about 380 pounds. The best thing to do would be to get ahold of Shannon to ask. But I am doubtful that anybody has at that weight.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that there is typically too much weight in the abdomen for them to get the scopes in to do what they need to do. It is very difficult for the surgeon to manuever the scopes with that much body weight on top of them. Men tend to carry a lot of their excessive weight in the upper body area too, so usually once they get past that 380 it gets physically difficult to do.
Give Shannon a ring and talk to her about it though, she would be the best one to ask! 614-293-2888 option #3.
Take care!
Valerie
Well, I guess the bottom line is you are getting it done!! That's great. I guess we'll know when you wake up huh? Suprise!
I absolutely go to support meetings, and please come when you are feeling up to it. I am going to send you the information on them via your email. They are a great way to get support and we have a great time. I am working on getting a directory put together for those who would like to keep contact with each other.
GOOD LUCK with your surgery! Be sure to tell Dr. Needleman I said Hey!
Post when you are up to feeling better to let us know how everything is going!
Hugs!
Valerie
