I am 3 months out from a RNY, anyone who has read other postings I have done--knows that I had a VERY difficult time with dry heaves. I was given a med. ****tail and that has been taken care of. What I am worried about now is---It seems that sometimes I can eat what I consider alot. Especially if its pasta. Way more than a couple of oz.s, I do not feel bloated or anything like that. A regular snack for me is an apple and bowl of pretzels and drink. I have no problem with chocolate, but cannot tolerate-milk, red meat, bread, and some sliced meats. Is it possible that I have stretched my pouch all ready. I have lost around 60 pounds. Thanks for your help with this.
Hi Julie, I dont think you have expaned your pouch. It is not uncommon for you to be sensitive to certain foods after this surgery. I would be careful of how much you eat and measure carefully. If you feel you maybe eating too much give your doctor or dietican a call.
I myself am 1 year post op and can't eat pasta or bread withou having discomfort. I really limit this items...rice is a big NO NO for me too.
As for sweets, I dare not try for fear of dumping still at a year out. I have had a bite of pumpkin pie and had no problem. Other than that sweets are a NO NO in my diet.

Hi Julie,
I am almost 6 months out and have lost a total of 84 lbs so far but i don't know how much in inches....I have gone from a 28 pants to a 18/20 and from a 3 shirt to an 18 (and needs to be smaller now)......I still cannot tolerate most meats at all.....I find i can eat a small amount of chicken or pork chop every so often.....even lunch meats are a no-no for me still.....I can however eats a dinner roll with no problem.....pasta is a no-no for me as it makes me sick....i am now finally starting to eat a small amount of salads once again.....My surgeon told me i could try anything i want to....even things with carbs and sugars....he wants us to learn how to eat real food again but in small amounts and not to depend on protein drinks....So that is what i am doing...believe me...your tummy will tell you when it is full..just listen to it very carefully....My surgeon told me there is no way i can stretch my pouch.....unless i really pig out everyday and eat so much i would actually be sick from it......Good luck..i think you are doing fine....Patty
