insurance

Hi Everyone, I have been a nervous wreck about insurance! Our insurance is Medical Mutual HMO HealthOhio. My husband works for Ford Motor. I found out this morning that there is NO exclusion for WLS! NO cap! And it won't change until the contract expires in September of 2006! I thought there might be someone else out there that might find this helpful! I am going to my PCP tomorrow and explain what he needs to send in for the 6 month supervised weight loss. Wish me luck! Sue

My husband works for Ford Motor too and we have Anthem BC/BS. I had no problem getting approved even with a very undocumented case. I was on Adipex and did Atkins over the years and that was it. They took my word for it basically and approved me in two weeks! I was told by the insurance co that they didn't do the case review for approval/denial but Ford NESC has a group that did it - don't know if that's the case or not, but I do know tons of folks in my husband's plant that have had the surgery. Kita, This is good to hear! Thanks! We have Medical Mutual and when I called the union hall I was told that as long as it is documented medical necessary than there won't be a problem. I am hoping that it goes to the insurance today. My PCP sent in my 6 month supervised diet but University Hospital's fax machine was down so I was given a new number to have them send it to. I was so excited yesterday when I learned that my PCP did document everything! Sometimes I worry needlessly but I can't help it! I did find out that I have NO red flags on my psych evaluation! Sue
