10 day liquid
My son is doing this now and on his 3rd day. He is so miserable and I feel so badly for him. I Know all about the liver but still 10 days? Its so hard/ He is so week and being a police off. its tough to work and be weak. I never had any diet before my surgery in July and I know I couldnt do it. Everyone says if you cant do this how can you do the surgery. Easily, you have a tiny pouch. Any suggestions? Hes my baby (30) and I am just a caring momma lol. Cindy
Boy I feel for him. I know I couldn't do it. I'm 7 days post op today and I'm dying for something "more". I did have a couple bites of runny mashed potatoes today, a person can only tolerate so much chicken broth, water and sf stuff. My heart goes out to him, especially having to work and needing the energy and stuff for his job. My doc didn't require it, only nothing after midnite the nite before, not even bowel prep and I've done fine in the tummy area. They gave me gatorade and capri suns in the hospital which people couldn't believe the sugar in them but my doc is worried about eletrolytes and not sugar for the first 2 weeks and again I haven't had any problems and I've lost 14 lbs in 7 days. I'm not sure where, I still feel bloated but I'm a slave to the scales. I did have someone say they could tell in my face but who knows, they hadn't seen me in a week, lol.
Good luck to your son!
Bev
Cindy,
I don't know if this will help him or not but I was told (not by Dr. C. or for the 10 day diet either) but by a nurse at a local hospital, to try and keep liquids in the stomach as much as possible. She told me that this would give me the feeling of being full. Not much of an energy source but it did work for me.
During the 10 day diet I drank a bunch of water, s/f jello and of course the s/f popsicles! Every time I started to get hungry, I just went for those things which worked for me anyway.
Hope he gets along ok.
