Surgery Date Less than a week away!!

My date is 12-27-04 and I am stoked. I am a bit nervous but I am glad that It is now going to happen. I am on my liquid diet right now and am struggling with the Jello's and the Yogurts. I guess I better get used to them. Does anyone have any weird ideas for the pre-op liquid diet that Dr. C. requires. Erin at the Dr. C's office told me I could have soup and I jumped for joy. Soup is the only thing that fills me up. Any other ideas would be helpful. I want something that will fill me up, and water just aint gettin it done. I will follow this diet to a T, but if there is something that I do not know about please let me know.

Hi B, congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I'm a patient of Dr. C too and I'm dreading the liquid diet. I just called Erin today and she is going to send the diet instructions to me via email today. My surgery isn't until 2/7/05, but I do better when I can start getting an idea of what I can and can't have in advance. I"m also glad to hear we can have soup. I'll be anxious to see what other responses you get. Are you planning on staying on the 7th floor of the hospital once you are released? That is my plan right now and my Mom will probably be the one to stay with me. Best of luck with the surgery and be sure to come back and post once you are out of the hospital. Denise

Hang in there, it WILL get better. You will really feel good about sticking to the plan when you see the needle on the scale go down after your surgery. I didn't have Dr. C so I can't really comment on his pre-op diet other than to suggest that you call his office and ask if there is any leeway on the list of foods or if there are some suggestions to make it more interesting.
