Food Sucks!
Ok it goes down, ok
... just makes me nauseous as heck on the way to my pouch and once it gets there.
S/F F/F stuff is too SWEET and gags me.
Any protein drinks I could tolerate b4 surgery .. OMG yuck!
Regular foods that I can puree are too SALTY! and gags me. cream soups - bleck
Even plain ole water .. bleck flavored water .. bleck
forget juices even watered down.
I'm gagging down reg water as I know I have to stay hydrated and I do get "some foods" down.
I knew I was a picky eater before, but omg now this is depressing.
Help! What am I to do here?
God Bless,
Vickie
Vickie,
sorry to hear you're struggling with this. As a pre-op, I don't have any suggestions for you except to hang in there it's bound to get better. I Know you had some post-op complications, so it's nice to see that you are over that and home. I hope things start to turn around for you soon.
Take care,
Nancy
Sorry to hear that things are tough for you right now. I am sure things will get better soon. I am the exact opposite of you. I have no problems drinking eating ect, I have had no nausea at all. I know that I am lucky when it comes to all of these positive things. But I cant help but to wonder why some people are so different.
Good luck
Jackie
I'm in the same boat as you! I just told my niece that I never want to see another popsickle! I think what makes it so hard for me is the ketosis! I smell it everywhere! It just makes me gag. I called Erin at Dr Curry's office and she suggested trying liquids again. I did so, but getting down more then 2 bites of food at a time is a struggle. I never would have dreamed that eating would ever have been a problem for me. Hang in there and call Dr Curry if you keep having problems. I'm thinking that before this is over, I will be addicted to milk which is the only way that I can get my protein in. I love the way you described the foods though, sounds just like me!
Hey girl, You must be feeling better to be on the boards. I experienced the same problems when I first came home. It took me about a month to actually like anything I could eat. I know it is hard and you will start to want to eat anything that will taste ok. Just keep in mind that it does get better. Bottled water with no flavor was my friend then. I also liked the low sodium bullion. I hope that helps. So tell us how much weight have you lost so far. Sorry that it stinks right now. But I agree with the last poster it does get better. Thinking about you, Deb
I feel so badly for you. I hate water now. I do get koolaid down much easier. You may need a stretch. Once I had mine I did feel instantly better. I also could get down some soft cheeses with a cracker or two/ You need to have an upper GI to make sure there are no strictures. Its easy to have the stretch I promise and it helps right away.Good luck,Cindy
