i was just wondering i have medicaid and my papers have been sent in to try to get approval for surgery what i was wondering is does medicaid actually send you a letter telling you whether you get approved or not or does it just go to your doctor and they let you know ?? and approximately how long does it take to get approved through them ? any information would be greatly appreciated thanks

Hi Tommie, I have Medicaid and Medicare and have been approved but never received anything in the mail from either. I does however take a very long time to get approval ... anywhere from 2 to 6 months. Best wishes to you. Georgeann

Tommie, I was denied the first time, and am waiting to hear about my second submission; I did recieve a letter in the mail about my denial. I went to a hearing about my denial, I was told that the review board only meets every six weeks, and they met on Oct. 14 so they should be reviewing cases soon. I was also told at the hearing that it will take atleast three months and as long as six months to hear anything. My last submission was sent on Sept.14 and I have not heard anything yet. I pray everyday that God will open this door for me and everyone else fighting for their approval and guide us on our journey to a healthier and happier life.
