Just More Reasons To Have The Surgery

I had a doctor's appt. yesterday to go over some results of blood work I had done not too long ago. My cholesterol is high. My blood pressure has steadily been rising and is now borderline high normal/high. My weight has increased steadily also over the past 5 years with a ten pound weight gain in the last year. The doctor said if I continue like this, I could have a heart attack or stroke within the next 5 years. We then discussed my having the surgery and he thinks it is a great idea. He is sending his results and recommendation to my surgeon. Should I have any problems with my insurance approving me, this doctor offered to write a letter stating my need for this surgery. I don't want to die from a heart attack or stroke. I want to get healthy and stay healthy as well as lose weight.

Hi Pauletta, I hate that you had the results you did, but it probably helps reconfirm that you DO need to have the surgery done. I count on these little reminders as I start to doubt my decision to move forward with this. Hang in there, we'll be on the losing side soon! Denise

Well, I talked to the insurance department at Barix. The lady I talked to said she had called UHC and was waiting for them to call her back. She said she was going to call them back because she hadn't heard anything. Apparently she didn't hear anything because she didn't get back with me this evening. Will call her back tomorrow. She is trying to work with me to get this all through.
