I saw my surgeon for the first time yesterday. I really felt good about the whole day! The were really very nice. Now..question...do most programs have you do a sleep apnea test, mamogram, and colonoscopy? I am not bothered by doing the tests as I know that it is my best interest to make sure I am healthy but.....just wondering if other programs do the same thing.

They just want to make sure you're healthy. I had the sleep apnea test and it turned out to be a good thing since I have it and the pain meds could have stopped me from breathing. I didn't have the other 2, but you may be a little older than I.

I don't think my surgeon requires a colonoscopy or mammogram. It just depends on the surgeon. You might check to make sure your insurance company will cover these tests. Sometimes they won't be covered because the insurance company does not require them, even though the surgeon does. (For instance, I really can't see how a mammogram relates to having weight loss surgery, and my plan won't cover one without a good reason before the age of 40.) Sue
