Playing The Waiting Game

I have been bothering the insurance company to death. They said that they have received all my clinicals, that it is in review (final stages as of yesterday). I talked to Barix to see what info they had. Barix was told that the procedure was covered, they were just awaiting the official approval from my insurance. I talked again to my insurance (hoping to move things along) and they said I SHOULD be hearing something this week. A tentive date was given the insurance of December 22. I want to wait until after Christmas, if possible. What a wonderful way to get to start out the New Year! I can't wait to be a big "loser"

Oh Pauletta, you'll always be a loser in my mind! (just kidding!) I'm in the same boat as you. Dr. C's office in Cincy submitted my insurance last Weds (11/24) and I'm now in the waiting mode. I also have United Health Care. I haven't called yet to be sure they received it, but I was thinking of doing that today. How long did you wait until you called the insurance company your first time? It's such an exciting time, so it is difficult to be patient. Hang in there and I'll try to take the same advice. Denise

I also have UHC and I had an answer within 9 days after it was submitted by Dr C's office. Hopefully you will have your approval soon!

Hi Cathy, Wow, only 9 days for your approval? That's great, I hope I will be as lucky. I have always heard UHC was pretty good about approving the first time. How have you been feeling? Are you able to get all of your food in? Are you still pretty tired? I was sorry to read your comments about the hospital stay, but I'm going to have a friend stay with me there too so hopefully she can run interference with the nurses. Let me know how you are doing.
