What's going on?
I just got a letter from Dr. Hess in Bowling Green that Dr Oakley (who was my surgeon since Dr Hess retired 2 days after my surgery was scheduled) is no longer going to be affiliated with his office. Now there is no one there who has performed a DS. He wants my PCP to get the blood tests done and to send him the results so he can keep his stats up to date.
Sue, I received the same letter. The long and the short of it is basically this. Young Dr Hess can't handle all the DS patients by himself. And Dr Hess and Oakley would be the first to admit that the blood chemistries that need to be done "aren't rocket science" and most PCP's should be able to handle the follow-up care.
I have a copy of all the labs they follow if you need to show your Dr. Let me know and I will gladly send you a copy.
