New to Group
I wish I'd narrowed it down. I think I'd like to have the Lap version, but I don't know who in our area has done them more than a time or two???? Of course, open is still an option. I'll ultimately have to go with the Docs opinion!!!! And I have no problem with that.
I am on such a tight budget!!!
If my insurance approves once I've shown them the requirements I've met, they will cover 90%....then my plan has a maximum out of pocket of $500 per occurence. I can find $500 in my Uncle Sam tax refund. LOL..

Margo - Thanks for asking! I had chosen the Barix Clinics in Groveport. I really liked reading Dr. Vig's reviews and it sounded like an excellent program. I don't know much about any of the other programs, but, have found out that both the UC Bariatric Program and OSU's program are covered under my insurance. I am trying not to panic just yet. I should hear something back as to whether I'm approved through the insurance company within the next couple weeks. It will be soon after that when I'll get some kind of "picture" as to what my expenses might look like at the present facility. I do know that my insurance only pays 60% for out-of-network. However, they told me that not only are the Barix Clinics out-of-network, that, they aren't even contracted. They told me that this was worse than just being out-of-network!!! I don't fully understand this yet. My insurance pays 80% if the program is considered in-network. So, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what I'm up against. Thanks for your support!!!! Karen
