8 days!
Wow you guys! I can't believe I am heading into the final stretch before my surgery. In 8 days I will be a loser. I have my final pre-op testing tomorrow and then, next Monday, I will be post-op. I had been going through this weird-panicky thing, but that has passed and now I am fairly calm. I thought for sure I would be totally flipping by now. I almost have everything ready for me to be able to avoid stressing when I come home. I have some foods my dietician recommended, some supplies to take to the hospital with me, and a large binder with just about everything anyone would ever need to know to run my household ( including, maps, directions, phone numbers, menus, recipes, medical releases for the kids and grocery lists). Now I just need to make it throught this next week and into the OR without jumping off the gurney and running away! LOL!!!
I fixed a nice Thanksgiving dinner yesterday with all of my favorites including a 22 lb turkey I got on sale at the grocery store (there will be frozen leftovers for Aaron and the kids for weeks to come Ha ha!. There were 18 people here and it was mass chaos with the kids (they were all 7 yrs old and under). Dinner was nice and I really enjoyed the time with our friends.
Has anyone heard how Princess Splenda is doing? She has been on my mind all day.
I hope you all have a nice week and a pleasant Thanksgiving.
Hugs,
Jaimee
Yeah, there were 7 adults and 10 kids. Can we all say MASS CHAOS???!!! There was a considerable amount of tattling going on. LOL But we had fun. We ended up playing Dominoes with our friends after din din. That was nice because you can play it with only half a brain (which is what I usually have after cooking for 2 days and then having turkey on top of all of that! LOL.

I did save some of the broth for later. It is very yummy! My surgery is going to be at Mount Carmel West. I am scheduled to have my surgery at 12:15. I am hopefully having it done lap. I was told it should take about 3 hours. You are welcome to call and see how things are going. After I get out of recovery, I will be on the 7 tower in the bariatric ward.
Your weight loss so far is really great! Way to go!!!!

Hi Jaimee,
How exciting that your surgery date is so close, I'm glad you have moved into some peace with the whole thing. God is sure good that way!
Your Thanksgiving sounded like fun, mine is very quiet, just my Mom, my brother and me. But, I'm not complaining, I like it that way. (of course, we have two dogs there too)
I have a friend here at work who had her surgery at Mt. Carmel West and had nothing but good things to say about her experience.
Best of luck and I'll be keeping you in my prayers.
