FORD EMPLOYEE/SPOUSE

If any of you are Ford Motor Co. employees or the spouse of one perhaps you can help me....I was informed By Anthem BCBS that the approval for WLS doesn't go through them it goes directly to the Ford National Service Center and they give the final OK. Have any of you had experience with this, and are they really as free with the approvals as I hear they are? THANKS!

HI I AM A SPOUSE OF A FORD EMPLOYEE AND HAD WLS. WE HAVE OHIO BLUE CROSS THOUGH SO I DON'T KNOW IF RULES ARE DIFFERENT FOR KENTUCKEY...I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THEM ONCE THEY RECIEVED THE INFORMATION THEY ASKED FOR, I NEEDED THE PAPERWORK FROM THE SURGEON AND A PSYCH EVAL, ONCE THEY RECIEVED IT I WAS APPROVED IN 3 DAYS!!! I DEALT DIRECTLY THROUGH BLUECROSS OHIO..I STARTED THE PROCESS AFTER SEEING THE SURGEON BY CALLING AND ASKING WHAT INFORMATION WAS REQUIRED AND GAVE THIS INFORMATION TO MY SURGEONS OFFICE, AND GOT THE PSYCH EVAL DONE..IT TOOK LONGER FOR THE SURGEONS OFFICE TO GET THE STUFF TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY THEN TO FIND OUT IF I WAS APPROVED..I ALSO KEPT CALLING TO SEE IF THEY RECIEVED THE CORRECT PAPERWORK AND ONCE RECIEVED THEY EVEN MADE SURE IT WENT PROMPTLY TO THE RIGHT PERSONS DESK ONE PHONE CALL TO THEM 2 DAYS AFTER IT WAS RECIEVED I WAS TOLD OF THE APPROVAL..I KNEW BEFORE THE SURGEON. HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL AND THAT YOUR APPROVAL IS AS EASY!!! GOOD LUCK BARB

Great to hear. I was told they move fast as long as they have all the info they need. We'll get it together and see what they say!
