My name is Debbie and I have a new addiction
Hi my name is Debbie and I have a new addiction. I am now addicted to weighing myself constently. With the help of my very supportive friend Cindy, I have reduced the times I weigh myself to only 2 times a week. I think I really needed that scale to feel the success of all of the changes I had made to my life. Now I can see the changes in the mirror and in the cloths I buy. Although seeing myself as thinner is a whole other story. But I was wondering, do other post ops have the same addiction. Are you frustrated by the scale when you don't lose weight everyday? It is something to struggle with along with the food addiction I also have. So are you addicted? Should we start a new club? Deb
Hi Debbie,
I do not own a scale. I can't be weighed on a regular scale because I'm too big. But I don't have too far to go until I can. But I don't think I would be able to control the urge if I did have one. I think I will bypass getting one because we have one (A professional one like in the Dr.'s office) at our church. I will get weighed there on Sunday Mornings like some of my friends do. I was always told not to weigh every day because it may (and probably will) lead to disappointment.

HI Deb,
I am sooooooo proud of you !!! You've gone from weighing yourself daily (or more then once daily) .. to 2 times a week !!! This is BIG !!! I knew you could do it.... and I think by 2005 you'll be only weighing yourself ONCE a week !!!
And of course, I'll be here to remind you and support you along your way !!!
