Updating your profile?

I've read the "updating your profile" section and all it gives me are the default pull-downs. How does one go about creating the blog-like sections on the profiles?

I had that problem too. Ultimately I figured out that I had to just go to my profile and under comments I had to just keep updating them. It is like one long continuous comment. I go to the bottom and just put a new date. There are people I guess that actually help create some of the prettier pages, but no one has contacted me or said anything. I figure you just learn as you continue to hang out here. I hope this is helpful.
